I found the original recipe on Allrecipes.com and made a few modifications on my own because I couldn’t be bothered with following any recipe to a tee. That and I didn’t have any walnuts in the house. So I had to improvise with chocolate chips and M&Ms! This brownie is very rich and fudge-like, especially with the reduced amount of sugar, so be prepared with a nice glass of milk.
At first, I thought about labeling this as Dalaran brownies (another nod to my WoW-playing readers and parents). Why? Because they’re so easy to make, they come together like magic, and so good that they make you feel like you’re floating!
Temp: 350F
Bake time: ~35min for 13×9″ pan; ~45min for 8″ square pan
4 one-ounce squares of unsweetened baking chocolate
3/4 cup butter (1-1/2 sticks)
1 2/3 cups sugar
3 eggs
1tsp vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1 cup walnuts (or M&Ms or chocolate chips or anything, really)
1.) Melt butter and chocolate squares together in a heatproof and microwaveable bowl. When all is melted, stir together.
2.) Stir in sugar and mix well. Stir in eggs one by one and add vanilla. Finally, stir in flour and whatever goodies you decide on at the last stage.
3.) Grease your pan with a nonstick spray. Pour in brownie batter and pop into the preheated oven.
4.) Brownies will be done when middle is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
