BEEP!
Yeah, my brain’s on vacation. It’s mostly my husband’s fault, really. He took this week off to fully enjoy Christmas and the rest of the holiday. So, by default, my brain switched to “rest and relaxation” mode, too. That, and since I got him an iPod Touch for Christmas, he’s gotten all of us addicted to Angry Birds. Never mind that I pre-loaded the Kindle app with Max Brooks’ World War Z and The Zombie Survival Handbook, both of which he’s been dying to read. Squawking, vengeful, avian spheroids are vastly more entertaining.
On the plus side, I now know why the birds are so angry.
Christmas was an absolute blast. I can’t even begin to properly verbalize all of the things that have gone on since last Thursday. I’m still exhausted from the baking and packaging and wrapping! Maybe with some sleep I’ll be a little more coherent.
The Greench has been most unkind. Well, I should say that the goblins of Smokeywood Pastures have been unkind. All I’ve gotten in my Stolen Present packages are copper racers, paper zeppelin kits, and more of both. At least the husband got a classic clockwork bot yesterday. Finally. I’m glad one of us got something of importance. Lumpy would be great but you count your blessings where you can, right?
The funny thing about Lumpy, the mini coal elemental, is that we’ve called our daughter “Lumpy” since she was 3mo, which is right about the time Adventure Time started on Cartoon Network. Lumpy Space Princess, despite her voice and attitude, is endearing in her own way. Our daughter was, succinctly, lumpy, too, with all of her little baby fat rolls. So the nickname stuck, even now as she’s gotten taller and leaner with all of her crazy running around.
In any case, let’s hope the RNG smiles upon me before the holiday is over. The guild is off from raiding this week, which probably means more shenanigans in LFR with the few of the guildies who may be around. Some of us had fun blowing down Black Temple for transmog and all-around fun. I decided to submit myself to archaeology again, too; I can’t wait to see what the Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron does. If you start seeing, “F’taghn glrrrbub shnizzzle taagos ot,” on the blog, you’ll know why.
Meanwhile, the Whelpling is still excited about all of her new toys, including the Leap Frog “Leaptop” from her grandparents that she likes to use for silly noises and remixes. When she’s not doing that, she’s running around with a pink ball my husband picked up for her at Walmart for only $1. I’m serious. She’s nicknamed it (or keeps mistakenly calling it) “Apple,” mainly because it’s round and reddish-pink. I need to get a recording of her running around, gleefully yelling, “APPLE!!!” with a huge smile. But she’s gotten more of a kick out of that $1 ball than some of her other fancy toys.
Goes to show how simple can be a good thing, once again.
On sudden reflection, I’ve realized the next time I post, it’ll be a new year. How crazy is that? I’ve made some awesome new friends and really developed the blog’s personality, though there’s still much work to be done. For those of you who have been reading or have just started, I wanted to say, “THANKS!” Knowing that someone out there reads my stuff and enjoys it to some extent is very encouraging, which does wonders for someone like me.
I hope your holiday was a good one! Celebrate the new year responsibly and I’ll see you again on the other side of 2012.
Just a smiling visitant here to share the enjoy (:, btw outstanding style . 541966
